CBSE and IBM are organising Future Tech Olympiad 2025 for students of grades 7-12. Register by November 5!
About the Olympiad
In today’s rapidly evolving world, the most valuable skills of tomorrow lie at the intersection of technology and sustainability. To prepare students for the future of work and sustainable development, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in collaboration with IBM, proudly announces the Future Tech Olympiad 2025, scheduled from 15th September to 28th November 2025.
The Future Tech Olympiad is a national-level platform that aims to test and celebrate students’ knowledge of emerging technologies and future-ready skills. This year’s edition places a special focus on Sustainability, encouraging students to explore how innovation and technology can help address real-world environmental challenges and build a better tomorrow.
Key Highlights
- The Top 10 schools with the maximum student participation will be felicitated at a special event.
- Top-performing students will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.
- Certificates of Participation will be awarded to all participating students.
- Teachers-in-charge of the best-performing schools will receive special recognition.
Eligibility
Students from Classes VII to XII of all CBSE-affiliated schools are eligible to participate.
Themes
The Olympiad will assess students’ aptitude across domains such as:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Data Science
- Cyber Security
- Augmented & Virtual Reality (AR/VR)
- Sustainability
- And other emerging technologies
Mandatory Pre-requisite
- Before appearing for the Olympiad, students must complete all modules as per the designated Learning Path, which provides essential preparation and foundational knowledge.
- Once the Learning Path is completed, students will become eligible to take the Olympiad. Details regarding the Learning Path will be shared with schools upon registration.

- The Olympiad is free of cost for all CBSE students.
- Schools registering for the Olympiad will be contacted by the IBM team.
- Principals are encouraged to motivate maximum student participation to foster curiosity, innovation, and future-ready skills.

Schools can register their students by 5th November 2025. Suitable test dates must be selected before 25th November 2025.
