The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India is organizing National Level Film Competition from June 14, 2023, to August 15, 2023, showcasing assets created in an ODF Plus Model Village under Phase 2 of Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBMG) and in celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

About the Competition

The Competition will generate awareness of ODF Plus goals and create demand for assets as underlined in Phase II for ensuring β€˜sampoorn swachhata’ in rural India, the participation of rural citizenry and institutions is imperative. The rural masses need to share their ideas and creativity through short films capturing various components of ODF Plus.

The competition will leverage the capabilities of individuals and communities in rural India to create a people’s movement to ensure the sustainability of Open Defecation Free (ODF) status and ensure all the villages have solid & liquid waste management arrangements.

Aims & Objectives

The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, and MyGov aim to empower rural communities, highlight their creative potential, and foster a sense of ownership and responsibility toward maintaining cleanliness and sustainable sanitation practices in rural India.

Themes

The theme is to showcase assets created in an ODF plus Model village, covering all the ODF plus assets in the village.

Eligibility Criteria

All Citizens, National, and State Level Film Institutes are eligible to participate in the competition.

Prizes

The States/UTs’ will share the three best entries with DDWS for further evaluation. Subsequently, the best-qualified entries will be felicitated with Certificate, Memento, and Cash Prizes:

  • First Prize: Rs. 8.0 lakh.
  • Second Prize: Rs. 6.0 lakh.
  • Third Prize: Rs. 4.0 lakh.
  • Fourth Prize: Rs. 2.0 lakh.
  • Fifth Prize: Rs. 1.0 lakh.

Submission Guidelines

  • The film entries should be of good quality (high-resolution video with clear action shots and subtitles, as applicable).
  • The video must capture the essence of the interventions and highlight the innovations, if any.
  • In case the video has sections/narration in vernacular language, subtitles in English/Hindi may be added.
  • Every film entry should have clear VO/dialogue/music/song etc.
  • The entries must have clear details of the participant’s name, contact number, and theme/category for consideration.
  • The film has to be uploaded on YouTube with a valid and active email id. The upload link needs to be filled up in the participation form here. The video should not be more than 4 minutes of time duration.
