Online applications are invited from high school students of Mysuru for the Moon Video Contest 2023 by COSMOS, Mysuru & IIA, Bengaluru. The last date for registration is June 30, 2023.
About the Competition
ISRO has announced the launch of Chandrayaan 3 for mid-July this year. To celebrate this upcoming launch, the Cosmology Education and Research Training Center (COSMOS), Mysuru, and the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru are organizing a video contest on the Moon.
This is your chance to make your own video and explain topics in space science in a simple way understandable to a non-specialist.
Topics
The topics for this contest are:
- Phases of the Moon.
- Craters on the Moon.
Eligibility
- The contest is open for students residing in Mysuru and studying in the schools which come under Mysuru Education District Limit.
- The age of students should be 12-15 years as of 15 July 2023.
Submission Guidelines
- Only one submission is allowed per student, and it can be on any one of the two topics mentioned above.
- The language used in the video can be English or Kannada. For any other language, please add subtitles in one of these two languages. The video should not be for longer than 3 minutes.
- You can just talk in front of a phone camera, or camera, do a PowerPoint presentation, or make one with fancy graphics.
Prizes
- The best videos will be featured on the social media handles of COSMOS, Mysuru.
- The winners will receive Astronomy goodies from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
