Applications are open and invited from students aged 18 and above for the Alpine Fellowship Poetry Prize 2024. The last date for submitting entries is March 1, 2024.

About the Organizer

They are a charitable foundation that supports, commissions, and showcases artists, writers, academics, and playwrights. They’re committed to discovering emerging talent, to disseminating new ideas, and to sharing thoughts about art, literature, and philosophy.

Through prizes, they evaluate thousands of entries by entrants from around the world and offer financial support in the form of grants, mentoring, performances, and exhibitions of the work of talented young artists, writers, academics, and playwrights. They also work with partner artistic and academic institutions to commission new works of art and to further the humanities and interdisciplinary study.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to all nationalities.
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or above at the time of entry.
  • All entries must be written in English.
  • Applicants must commit to using some of their prize money to attend the symposium from Sat, 6th – Tue, 9th July 2024 in Tuscany, Italy.
  • You may submit one poem or a collection of poems as long as ALL the poems in the collection speak to the theme.
  • There is a maximum of 500 words per entry.
  • There is no minimum required word count.

Prizes

  • The winner and runners-up will receive cash prizes and will be invited to attend the annual symposium.
    • First place: £3,000
    • Second place: £1,000
    • Third place: £1,000
  • They will also offer up to £500 travel expenses to help with travel to the event, and meals and accommodation during the symposium dates are also covered.
  • The symposium will take place from Sat, 6th – Tue, 9th July, 2024 in Tuscany, Italy.
