It functions under the Department of Revenue of the Ministry of Finance. The Income Tax Department is headed by the apex body, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

About the Quiz Contest

Income tax plays a crucial role in fueling India’s growth by providing the government with essential revenue for infrastructure development, social welfare programs, and public services.

This Income Tax quiz is a medium through which we can encourage a basic understanding of taxation amidst a larger populace and engage with a wider audience.

The Income Tax Department, in collaboration with MyGov, intends to run this quiz in order to reach a wider section of citizens, especially the youth of the nation and educate them about the basics of direct taxation.

Quiz Format

The Quiz is available in English and Hindi. A participant may choose either of the languages. The Quiz will have 10 (ten) multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark. A participant will get 5 (five) minutes to complete the Quiz. There will be no negative marking.

Eligibility Criteria

The quiz is open to all Indian Citizens.

Prizes

Each month, 10 winners will get a hamper, which will include souvenirs from the Income Tax Department and an E-certificate. All participants in this quiz will receive a participation certificate.
