About the Archaeological Survey of India

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is an Indian government agency responsible for archaeological research and the conservation and preservation of cultural-historical monuments in the country. It was founded in 1861 by Alexander Cunningham, who became its first Director-General.

India is a country with a diverse culture, history, and traditions. Heritage Quiz is aimed to highlight India’s multifaceted heritage. Heritage Quiz is a medium through which all can examine history and traditions, enabling them to develop awareness about the same. The lack of awareness of Heritage reduces the opportunities to engage in preserving and safeguarding heritage.

About MyGov

MyGov is a citizen engagement platform launched by the Government of India on July 26, 2014, to promote the active participation of Indian citizens in their country’s governance and development.

About the Quiz

The Archaeological Survey of India, in collaboration with MyGov, intends to host the Heritage Quiz to reach out to students across the country and introduce them to India’s rich, diverse, and cultural heritage. The quiz also aims to raise awareness about conserving and managing the country’s heritage.

Eligibility Criteria

The quiz is open to all schoolchildren.

Prizes

  • Each month 10 winners will get a free visit with his/her family to any monument protected by the Archaeological Survey of India, along with a complimentary picture clicked at the monument.
  • In case of multiple winners, the final winner will be declared through a lucky draw.

Terms & Conditions

  • The Quiz will be active for a period of one year.
  • This is a timed quiz. Participants will be required to answer 25 questions within 15 Minutes.
  • The quiz will have a bilingual format and will be available in English and Hindi.
  • The participants who fetch the maximum number of correct answers in the minimum time will be declared the winner.
