About the Competition
In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Mumbai, in collaboration with Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya, is hosting a Solo Singing Competition for School Teachers. This annual event is part of a series of inter-school and inter-college competitions held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. The event provides an opportunity for school teachers to demonstrate their musical talents while paying tribute to Gandhiβs legacy through devotional songs.

The competition is a special event, focusing on the musical skills of teachers from different schools. It aims to foster a sense of community and respect for Gandhian values through the performance of devotional songs. Teachers are invited to sing in Marathi, Hindi, or Gujarati, with all languages being judged together.
Key Rules
- The solo singing competition will feature songs in Marathi, Hindi, and Gujarati. All languages will be evaluated in the same category.
- Devotional songs only are permitted; film songs are not allowed.
- Each school can send only one teacher to participate in the competition.
- Teachers should choose one language to perform their song.
- The performance should not exceed 5 minutes.
- Participants are allowed to bring up to three accompanists.
- The organizing committee will provide a Harmonium at the venue.
- There will be three prizes awarded to the best performers. However, if the number of participants is fewer than ten, only the first and second prizes will be given.
- The judges’ decisions will be final and binding.
- A copy of the song must be submitted to the Nidhiβs office in advance.
How to Register?
To participate, entries must be submitted on school letterhead or via an enclosed entry form. The submission deadline is Tuesday, 24th September 2024. All entries must be sent to the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Mumbai office by this date.
