Submissions are invited for Essay Writing Competition by MyGov India on Unani Medicine for Innovative Health Solutions for the year 2024.

About the Competition

TheΒ Ministry of AyushΒ adopted 11th February, the birthday of Hakim Ajmal Khan – a versatile genius, educationist, philanthropist, freedom fighter, and pioneer of scientific research in Unani Medicine – as Unani Day in 2016. This day commemorates Hakim Ajmal Khan’s significant contributions to the growth and scientific development of Unani Medicine in India and across the globe.

To mark the celebration of Unani Day 2025,Β the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), under the Ministry of AyushΒ in collaboration withΒ MyGovΒ has adopted the theme β€œInnovations in Unani Medicine for Innovative Health Solutions – A Way Forward” and proudly announces an essay writing competition based on this theme.

Objectives

The essay writing competition aims to:

  • Promote awareness of the historical significance of Unani Medicine and its modern-day contributions to healthcare.
  • Highlight innovations in Unani Medicine and their potential in addressing contemporary health challenges.
  • Encourage research and creativity among students and scholars on integrating traditional Unani knowledge with modern scientific advancements.
  • Foster critical thinking on how Unani Medicine can provide sustainable, innovative solutions to global health issues.
  • Engage youth and academicians in exploring the future trajectory of Unani Medicine in the global health ecosystem.
  • Celebrate the legacy of Hakim Ajmal Khan and his role in shaping Unani Medicine as a modern scientific discipline.

Eligibility

All Indian citizens are eligible to participate in the competition.

Rules & Regulations

  • The competition will be conducted in both English and Hindi. Participants can submit their entries in either language.
  • Each participant is allowed to submit only one entry. Once submitted, the entry cannot be modified or withdrawn.
  • Essays must be between 700 and 1000 words. Entries outside this range will not be considered for evaluation.
  • Submissions must be original works and must not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. Participants found infringing on copyright laws will be disqualified.
  • Participants must ensure that their MyGov profile information is accurate and up-todate, as this will be used for all future communication.
