About the Organiser

Incepted as Nirmla College in 1951 symbolising the feminine energy of a motherhood and established as Kirori Mal College in 1954 symbolising the crystallization of ‘Nirmal Bhawana’, that is, Benevolence, Benediction & Beatitude, this Body of Academic has excelled in nurturing the early buds of the society into a full blossomed flowers, spreading fragrance of their knowledge, merit and happiness all round in every nook and corner of the world.

Kirori Mal College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. Established in 1954, it is located in the heart of North Campus of the university in New Delhi, and offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the sciences, humanities and commerce.

About the Competition

Call for submission of essays on any one topic mentioned below as a part of Department of Geography, Kirori Mal College annual flagship event ‘GEOTIME’ in collaboration with MINISTRY OF JAL SHAKTI, NATIONAL WATER MISSION, NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SOLAR ENERGY, GAS AUTHORITY OF INDIA LIMITED AND AMAR UJALA.

  • Himalayan Dams: Awe-Inspiring Engineering Marvels or Catastrophic Ecological Disasters
  • From Cooking Stoves to Solar Panels – How renewable energy improves women’s lives?

Eligibility

This is open to all.

Rules

  • Length of the essays should be between 1500-2000 words. Those submissions which breach this mark will stand disqualified. 
  • Essays should be typed following the given parameters:
    1. Font Size – 12 
    2. Font Style – Times New Roman
  • Participants are required to submit it in both pdf and doc format. 
  • Participants are requested not to use AI in any manner. Essay should be based on one’s own thoughts. 
  • Plagiarism of any kind is not allowed. Plagiarized essay stand disqualified.
  • Essays are to be written only in English.
