Submissions are open for the 3rd CBSE Expression Series 2023-24 on the theme Disaster Risk Resilience & Reduction: Role of Citizen.
About the Series
The 3rd Expression Series for the academic session 2023-24 will be organized by CBSE on the theme βDisaster Risk Resilience & Reduction: Role of Citizen.
Topics
The topics for each category are given as under:
Primary (Class 3 to 5): Paragraph (150 Words)/Painting
- Save water in daily use.
- Rescue and relief of any disaster.
Middle (Class 6 to 8): Essay (400 Words)/Painting/Poem
- Save water in daily use.
- Rescue and relief of any disaster.
Secondary (Class 9 to 10): Essay (700 Words)/Painting/Poem
- Roles and responsibilities of Disaster Management Authorities.
- Earthquake Precursors: Studies & Monitoring.
- Rehabilitation and Reconstruction post-natural disasters.
Senior Secondary (Class 11 to 12): Essay (1000 Words)/Painting/Poem
- Future Risk of Disaster and Climate Risk.
- Agriculture and Resource Management to reduce the probability of disasters.
- Biological Disasters.
- Increasing Threat of Disasters in Urban Areas.
Participation
Conduct of Expression Series at the School Level:
- Schools shall organize the school-level Expression Series during school hours on the above topics from December 1 to December 10, 2023. Information on the conduct of the Expression Series should be given to all students.
- For participation in Expression Series activities, i.e. Essays/Paragraphs/Paintings/Poems, etc., please use the format given in Annexure I of the brochure.
- Photographs/Essays can be written in Hindi or English.
- Schools shall complete the evaluation of entries and shortlist one entry per class category (a total of 04 entries from a school) for onward submission to CBSE.
- Entries must be supported by a Certificate from the Head of the Institution/Teacher in charge that the entry is the original work of the participant.
Submission
- Schools can submit/upload the entries from December 5 to December 17, 2023, using an Android phone through the CBSE Expression Series App available at the Google Play store. For guidelines on the process of submission, please see Annexure II of the brochure.
- Each participant will get an online certificate of participation at the registered e-mail ID after the successful submission of entry on the CBSE Expression Series App.
Prizes
- 10 best entries of each category will be selected by each CBSE Region for selection of winners at the National Level.
- The three best entries will be selected at the national level. All of these best entries shall be compiled in the form of a booklet for display on the CBSE website.
- 10 best entries at the Regional Level (160 entries from 16 ROs) and 03 best entries at the National Level will be given an online certificate of merit by the Board. The Certificate will be mailed to the registered e-mail ID of the school.
