About NLU Tripura
The National Law University, Tripura, established by Act No. 3 of 2022 of the Government of Tripura, is a premier national institution of legal education located in the green and smart capital city of Agartala. It marks a significant milestone in the realm of legal education and research in the state, aimed at enhancing the quality of professional legal training.
The foundation of NLU Tripura was laid on 12th October 2022 by Her Excellency Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India, in the esteemed presence of:
- Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura
- Hon’ble Justice Indrajit Mahanty, Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura
- Shri Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Minister for Law and Education, Tripura
- Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Tripura
- Other Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Tripura
Presently, the University is nurturing a select group of bright legal minds as part of its inaugural batch, laying the foundation for future leaders in law and justice.
About the National Essay Writing Competition
Once again, we are immensely glad to invite you to Likhawat 2.0: National Essay Writing Competition 2025. This year’s theme draws inspiration from the powerful adage, “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman” (Our Constitution, Our Pride), commemorating 75 years of India as a Republic and celebrating the enduring legacy of the Indian Constitution.
Eligibility
We warmly invite students of Class 11 & 12, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students across India, to participate and showcase their critical thinking and writing skills.
As the famous quote goes, “The pen is mightier than the sword.” Let your words be the vehicle of your voice, vision and ideas.
