Type of Entry
Solo performance
Theme: Celebrating Diversity
Diversity means all the amazing things that make us different! Itβs about our backgrounds, cultures, families, abilities, interests, and so much more. Itβs like a beautiful garden full of different flowers, each one unique and adding its own special colour. Think about all the ways we celebrate diversity in the world around us.
The participants are required to craft a performance that explores the beauty of diversity.
Performance Categories
- Monologues:Β Participants can create a character who celebrates diversity.
- Role Play:Β Participants can enact short scenes or interactions involving characters (imaginary) who celebrate diversity.
- Storytelling:Β Participants can tell original short stories that revolve around the theme of celebrating diversity.
Prizes
- Two winners from each category will be awarded trophies.
- All winners and participants will get eCertificates.
Instructions
- Each participant is allowed to submit ONLY one entry for Natya.
- Each participant will perform a solo act based on the theme.
- The performance must be a monologue, it may involve interactions with imaginary characters or objects.
- Participants are encouraged to use creative elements, such as costumes, props, lighting, and sound effects, to enhance their performance.
- Participants will be required to send a maximum 5 minutes duration performance video that must be shot in horizontal orientationΒ
- Performances can be in any language, but non-English performances should provide English Subtitles or a brief translation.
Submission Guidelines
- The recording should be clear, well-lit, and free from technical glitches.
- Submissions to the competition to be uploaded on the submission link, that will be received on your registered mail ID, as a video in an MP4 format, maximum size 25 MB.Β
- Participants are responsible for including their music (if any) with their video submission.
- When submitting, please label your video file with your name, category for clear identification, for example: Nameofthestudent_CategoryName_Natya.mp4
Criteria for Judgement
The performances will be judged based on the following criteria:
1. Emotion Portrayal: The depth and authenticity of emotions expressed, the actorβs ability to evoke a genuine emotional response from the audience.
2. Artistic Expression: Creativity, originality, and use of theatrical elements to enhance the performance, including costume, props, and set (if applicable).
3. Clarity and Diction: Clear enunciation and projection of voice, ensuring the audience can understand the emotions conveyed.
4. Overall Impact: The overall impact and effectiveness of the performance in engaging and connecting with the audience.
5. Interpretation of the element’s theme: Creativity and originality in the performance.
