The Ministry of Jal Shakti is a ministry under the Government of India that was formed in May 2019 under the second Modi Ministry. This was formed by merging of two ministries; the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, and the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.

About the Quiz Contest

Water is a precious resource, vital for all life forms on Earth. The Jal Jeevan Mission: Har Ghar Jal is a significant initiative by the Government of India aimed at providing safe and adequate drinking water to every rural household.

To spread awareness and engage citizens in this mission, an online quiz competition ‘Har Ghar Jal Quiz’ is being hosted by National Jal Jeevan Mission: Har Ghar Jal under the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India on the MyGov platform.

This competition aims to educate participants about the various aspects of the Jal Jeevan Mission, the importance of judicious use of water, water quality, the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission, and related matters.

Objectives

  • Raise awareness about the Jal Jeevan Mission and its goals.
  • Educate participants about the significance of getting potable water at home under the Har Ghar Jal Programme and its management.
  • Promote citizen engagement and knowledge-sharing on water-related topics.
  • Encourage a sense of responsibility and ownership towards water resources.

Themes

The quiz will cover a range of themes related to the Jal Jeevan Mission and water conservation, including:

  • Importance of safe/clean drinking water and sanitation.
  • Progress and achievements of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
  • Water conservation techniques.
  • Drinking water quality supplied under the mission.

Quiz Format

This is a timed quiz with 10 questions to be answered within the stipulated times. There will be no negative marking for the incorrect answer. The quiz will be available in English & Hindi languages. A person can participate only once in this quiz.

Eligibility Criteria

It is open to people of all ages.

Prizes

A prize money of Rs. 2,000 INR will be given to the top 1,500 participants who answered correctly.
Winners will be notified through e-mail/ SMS, etc.
