About NSC

Nehru Science Centre is the largest interactive science centre in India. It is located in Worli, Mumbai. The centre is named after India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. In 1977, the centre started with the ‘Light and Sight’ exhibition, and then in 1979 a Science Park was built.

Nehru Science Centre has more than 500 hands-on and interactive science exhibits on energy, sound, kinematics, mechanics, transport, etc. installed in the science park & different galleries. The NSC building with its unique architecture houses several permanent science expositions on various themes.

National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), the parent body of Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai, is an autonomous society under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India with its 25 Science Centres / Museums all over the country. It has the best infrastructure and skilled manpower to conceptualize, design, develop and organize high quality science exhibits and other related educational programmes and activities.

It aims to portray the growth of science and technology and their applications in industry and human welfare, with a view to develop scientific attitude and temper and to create, inculcate and sustain a general awareness amongst the people. It also aims to collect, restore and preserve important historical objects, which represent landmarks in the development of science, technology and industry.

Programme Details

Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai will be conducting an overnight sky observation program at Gholvad, Palghar on January 4-5, 2025. It is open to all (above age 12).
