Competition Details
Management Entrepreneurship Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India and ThinkStartup are organizing the 4th edition of YOUTH IDEATHON, a school level Innovation and Entrepreneurship festival to harness the creativity of young minds.
YOUTH IDEATHON 2024 (YI24) is a 5-stage competition, which shall be launched on 24th July, 2024 and final shall be held on 6th Oct 2024. The theme of this event is “iStartup a Good Thing for India”. In the 2024 edition, Youth Ideathon is introducing a novel Rs. 1000 Challenge to motivate young students to build a real innovation or a real start up under resource constraints.
YI24 is an online event. School students can submit their innovation and entrepreneurship ideas at the Idea Form on the website www.YouthIdeathon.in. For fair representation of schools and students from each region, this year YOUTH IDEATHON shall have regional round and awards. The organizers are also conducting Faculty and Student Workshop on the topic “How to get Good Ideas” which is an important capacity building initiative for our teachers. Faculty / Students can register for this workshop on the website.
Eligibility
The Youth Ideathon 2024 is open to all school students in India across two categories:
- Junior: Class 4 to Class 8.
- Senior: Class 9 to Class 12.
YI24 is OPEN for registration for following categories:
- School students from any school board operating in India.
- Teachers and Mentors of School Students.
- Schools.
Rewards and Recognition
This YOUTH IDEATHON has become a nationally recognised rewards and recognition platform for school students, teachers and schools.
The awards are designed to incentivize students as they move to higher level of competition. Further, there are awards for Teachers, Mentors and Schools who are engaged in the furtherance of cause of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The awards are as follows:
- Certificates: All participants in Top 1500, Top 500, Top 100, and Top 3 will receive certificates.
- Cash Grant of Rs. 1000 to Top 500 Teams for Rs. 1000 Challenge.
- Incubation Grant: The top 3 teams in each theme (Innovation & Entrepreneurship) for both Junior and Senior categories will receive a progress-based incubation grant of upto Rs. 100,000 each.
- Recognition for Teachers/Mentors: Teachers and mentors who guide students throughout the competition will be recognized at each stage.
- School Recognition: Schools with high participation will be awarded trophies based on the number of participating teams (750, 500, and 300 teams).
- Mentor Recognition: Mentors who guide a significant number of students (500+, 300500, 150-300) will receive recognition.
