About the Contest

World Wetlands Day is observed every year on February 2nd all over the world. It is celebrated to raise global awareness about the vital role of wetlands for people and our planet. This day also marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on February 2, 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar.

This year’s theme of World Wetlands Day is “Wetlands and human well-being”, which highlights the importance of conservation and sustainable use of wetlands for human well-being. The Wetlands and Human Well-being Photography Contest would create awareness about and encourage the citizens of the country, especially the students about the conservation of wetlands.

Eligibility Criteria

The competition is open to all Indian citizens.

Prizes

  • Prize for the Winner: INR 10,000/-
  • Second Prize for Runner up: INR 5,000/-
  • Third Prize for Second runner up: INR 3,000/-
  • Consolation Prizes (2) – 1,000/- each.

Submission Guidelines

  • Photographs shall be submitted only in JPEG (or JPG) format.
  • It should be ensured that the uploaded photograph is visible and of high resolution.
