About the Competition
The Theme Music Competition (TMC) hosted by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) has joined forces within association with the Indian Music Industry (IMI) , is one of
the 25 competitions taken up as part of the Create in India Challenge organised under the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES).
The aim of the competition is to scout for the βSong of Indiaβ which represents the power of Indian music.

Competition Details
They invite songwriters, singers, performers and music creators to create and share a piece of music that resembles Indian classical music or a fusion of classical and contemporary music instruments and styles.
- The competition will unfold across two stages, the preliminary stage and the Finale
stage. - The theme of the competition is “Song of India,” focusing on the use of Indian
classical or a fusion of classical and contemporary music instruments and styles to create a cohesive and culturally rich musical piece. - The work submitted in the form of an entry shall not be less than 1 (One) Minute in
duration and shall not exceed the length of 2 (Two) minute in duration.. - The work must be original compositions and not previously published or used elsewhere..
- The work must be in MP3 or WAV files format only (high-quality audio preferred).
- The work may be supported with a short video (up to 2 minutes) explaining the
creative process or cultural inspiration behind the music, especially highlighting the
use of Indian classical elements. - Open to musicians and composers of above the age of 18. The competition is only
open to Citizens of India.
