About the Department
Rajasthan is India’s largest state at 34.2 Million hectares is as big as Germany and with a population of around 70 million has as many people as in France. Home to some of the most fascinating landscapes and steeped in listing and tradition, Rajasthan is home to unique and diverse ecosystem and biological wealth. The Rajasthan Forest Department manages forests in around 9.6% of the state area with the primary mandate to protect and conserve forest and wildlife wealth in the state. The department is headed by Principle Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force as the technical head and administratively lead by Principal Secretary to the Government of Rajasthan.

Calling all wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers! This World Wildlife Week, itβs time to do more than simply admire the beauty of nature. Celebrate the untold stories behind every awe-inspiring photograph and video. Whether itβs the majesty of a wild animal or the serenity of untouched landscapes, these moments are more than just pictures; theyβre experiences that stay with us forever.
Hereβs your chance to contribute to World Wildlife Week by sharing the story behind your unforgettable wildlife experience. Write your personal tale in no more than 250 words, and send it along with your wildlife photograph or video to forestphotodata[at]gmail[dot]com. Submit high-quality images between 1920 x 1080 and 4000 x 3000 pixels, or videos in 2K or 4K resolution, up to 1 minute long.
