Registrations are invited for Quiz Contest 2024 on Space by Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. The last date of registration is August 8, 2024.

About the Centre

The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre is a major space research centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation, focusing on rocket and space vehicles for India’s satellite programme. It is located in Trivandrum, in the Indian state of Kerala.

The Centre is named in fond memory of Dr Vikram A Sarabhai, the great visionary and the father of Indian Space Programme. VSSC pioneers in rocket research and launch vehicle projects of ISRO. The Centre also pursues research and development activities in associated areas like propellants, solid propulsion technology, aerodynamics, aero structural and aero thermal fields, avionics, polymers and composites, guidance, control & simulation, computer and information, mechanical engineering, aerospace mechanisms, vehicle integration and testing, space ordnance, chemicals and materials. 

Contest Details

As part of the National Space day Vikram Sarabhai space Centre (VSSC), along with Liquid propulsion System centre (LPSC), ISRO Inertial System Unit( IISU), Indian Institute Of Space science and Technology (IIST) & ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) is conducting various events in Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.

The quiz will be conducted with “Space” as the theme. Students from class 8th to 12th can participate in this competition. The quiz Programme will be conducted on 10th August, 2024 [Saturday] from 08:30AM to 1:00PM. The Programme will be conducted at four locations in Kerala as mentioned below:

Guidelines

  • Students are free to choose their venue as per convenience and the same should be indicated during online registration.
  • A school can nominate only one team consisting of two members (high school & higher secondary sections of the same school can nominate separate teams).
  • After online registration, students will be able to download the registration form with the details. This form shall be duly signed by the Head of the Institution and brought to the Venue on the day of the quiz competition.
  • Applicants shall have to make their own arrangements to reach the venue. No transport allowance will be provided
  • The students will be given confirmation about the programme through e-mail / phone which he/she has provided during registration.

Prizes

  • Three top scoring teams will be declared as winners at each venue.
  • All the students will be provided with participation certificates.
