The International Statistical Literacy Project (ISLP) invites students and educators to participate in the ISLP Poster Competition 2024-2025.
About the ISLP Poster Competition
The ISLP Poster Competition aims to promote statistical literacy worldwide by encouraging participants to engage with statistical data and concepts. It is an excellent platform for students to demonstrate their understanding of statistics and its relevance in various fields. By participating, you not only enhance your statistical skills but also contribute to a global dialogue on the importance of statistical literacy.

Competition Details
- Eligibility: The competition is open to students of all ages, with separate categories for different educational levels. Whether you’re in primary school or pursuing higher education, there’s a place for you in this competition!
- Submission Guidelines: Participants are required to create a poster that effectively communicates a statistical concept, analysis, or application. The posters should be visually engaging, informative, and accessible to a broad audience.
- Themes: While participants can choose any statistical topic, the ISLP encourages projects that demonstrate the real-world application of statistics, including data analysis, surveys, and innovative statistical methods.
- Judging Criteria: Posters will be evaluated based on clarity, creativity, relevance, and the effective communication of statistical ideas. Judges will consider how well participants convey their message and engage their audience.
- Prizes: Winners will receive recognition and prizes that celebrate their hard work and creativity. This recognition can significantly boost your academic profile and open doors to future opportunities.
Categories
The registration has begun on February 1st, 2024. The competition is open to teams of 1 to 5 students. There are four categories:
- elementary schools, ages 9 to 11
- lower secondary schools, ages 12 to 15
- upper secondary schools, ages 16 to 18
- universites/universities of applied sciences, Bachelor level students (before writing thesis)
Prizes
The awards in the elementary school category is: Books or calculators
Lower secondary school and upper secondary school categories are:
- 450β¬ per group
- 350β¬ per group
- 200β¬ per group
The winners in the university and university of applied sciences categories will receive:
- 900β¬ per group
- 700β¬ per group
- 400β¬ per group
