Ministry of Defence and MyGov invites citizen to participate in the 1st National Online Quiz on Mountaineering by JIM&WS.

The Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS) was established at Aru (Pahalgam), Jammu & Kashmir (UT) on 25 October 1983. The Institute is a Registered Body under the J&K Society Registration Act VI of Samvat 1998 (1941 AD). Raksha Mantri is the President and Lieutenant Governor, Jammu & Kashmir (UT) is the Vice President of the Institute. Col Hem Chandra Singh is the Principal of the Institute since June 2023.The institute aims to expose the youth to nature, kindling the spirit of adventure, develop personality, character, courage and confidence through adventure sports. The institute has been bestowed upon to impart training on technical aspects of Mountaineering and to Undertake rescue operations/search missions.

  • First Prize: 3,000/-
  • Second Prize: 2,000/-
  • The next five best performers will be awarded consolation prizes of 1,000/- each.

Guidelines

  • All Indian Citizens can participate in the quiz.
  • The Quiz is being organised by the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Winter Sports (JIM&WS), Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
  • The Quiz will have 20 (twenty) multiple choice questions, each carrying one mark. A participant will get 10 (ten) minutes to complete the Quiz. There will be no negative marking.
  • These questions will be based on Mountaineering.
  • All participants of this Quiz will receive a participation certificate.
  • The quiz will start when the participant clicks the “Start Quiz” button.
  • The participant should ensure that his/her MyGov profile is accurate and updated since the Ministry would use this for further communication.
