About BNHS
The Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), a pan-India wildlife research organization, has been promoting the cause of nature conservation since 1883.
The Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), founded on 15 September 1883, is one of the largest non-governmental organizations in India engaged in conservation and biodiversity research. BNHS was started by eight amateur naturalists of Mumbai, of which two were Indians. It supports many research efforts through grants and publishes the Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society. Many prominent naturalists, including the ornithologists Sálim Ali and S. Dillon Ripley, have been associated with it.
The guiding principle of BNHS has been that conservation should be based on scientific research – a tradition exemplified by its former president, Dr Sálim Ali – world renowned ornithologist and receiver of Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards by Government of India.
Competition Details
On the occasion of “World Earth Day, April 22, 2024”, the EIACP Programme Centre (PC), Resource Partner (RP) on Avian Ecology at the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS-EIACP) is organizing a “Poem Writing Competition” for the students.
Theme
Save Earth, Save Nature.
Guidelines
- This competition is open to students only.
- The poem may be written in English, Marathi, or Hindi. It should not exceed 50 to 60 words.
- Submit the poem in PDF, Word, or Image format only.
- Winners may be asked to provide proof of date of birth or school ID card.
- Participants must submit their original work and are prohibited from plagiarism or using copyrighted material.
- Three winners will be selected from each group and awarded prizes and certificates.
Categories
- Group A : Class 5-7.
- Group B : Class 8-10.
