About the Challenge
The India EVolve Innovation Challenge invites young creative minds from across India to ideate scalable solutions to decarbonize India’s transport sector. Focusing on technology, social impact, governance, and financial viability, this challenge aims to shape sustainable transportation’s future by gathering innovative ideas and thoughts that can be implemented and scaled specifically to reduce the impact of the last-mile parcel delivery sector.
Why Focus on Last-Mile Delivery?
Last-mile delivery refers to the final step of the delivery process from a distribution centre to the end user. This sector is responsible for a significant portion of delivery-related emissions, with transportation accounting for at least a quarter of all global emissions. As e-commerce and hyperlocal logistics grow, the environmental footprint of last-mile delivery is increasing, making it crucial to find sustainable solutions.

Eligibility
- Teams of up to 5 members (aged 18-38), with at least two members per team.
- One team member can be a college faculty member, even if above the age bracket.
- Ideas should promote the accelerated transition of the last-mile delivery sector to zero emissions.
- Solutions should be scalable, viable, replicable, and inclusive.
Judgment Criteria
Entries will be judged based on:
- Viability: The practical applicability of the solution.
- Scalability: The potential for the solution to be expanded.
- Replicability: The ability to implement the solution in different contexts.
- Inclusivity: Ensuring a just transition for gig workers and delivery riders.
Process
- Application: Submit your ideas through the application form on the India Evolve website.
- Review: An expert panel will review submissions and select the top 20 ideas.
- Bootcamp: Engage with experts to refine submissions.
- Final Pitch: Present your ideas to a panel of experts.
- Awards: Top 7 solutions will receive cash prizes, and the top 20 will be documented and released for stakeholder learning.
- Pilot: Selected solutions will be piloted by various stakeholders.
Awards
- Top Prize: ₹1 Lakh
- Second Prize: Two teams will each receive ₹75,000
- Third Prize: Four teams will each be awarded ₹50,000
- Total Prize Pool: ₹4.5 Lakhs
