About NCW
In pursuance of the National Commission for Women Act,1990, the National Commission for Women (NCW) was constituted on 31st January 1992 as a Statutory Body to safeguard and promote the rights and interests of women. It actively participates while discharging its mandated responsibilities for the development of women through seminars, webinars, consultations, hearings, meetings, and conferences with various Government, Social, and Private Organizations, Stakeholders, Police Departments and many other organizations etc.
Competition Details
Taking another step in this direction, the National Commission for Women is publishing the third edition of its Hindi Magazine ‘Arunima’. Ms. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of, the National Commission for Women has decided to include the views of citizens on topics related to women to make the magazine multifaceted.
Thus, the National Commission for Women in collaboration with MyGov is hosting a self-written ‘Essay Writing Competition – Arunima Magazine of NCW’ inviting citizens to contribute their opinions on the below-mentioned topics:
- Women’s related issues.
- Women empowerment and women’s education: change is also necessary.
- Contribution and responsibilities of women in society.
Technical Parameters
- The language of the submitted Essay should be Hindi and should be typed in Unicode font only.
- The essay should reflect original thinking and presentation and should only be on the above-mentioned topics.
- The length of the Essay must not exceed 2000 words.
Guidelines
- The competition is open to all Indian citizens.
- Participants can submit only once. In case it is found that any participant has submitted more than one entry, all his/her entries will be considered invalid.
- The entry should be original. Copied entries or plagiarized entries will not be considered under the contest. Winning entries will be published in an Annual Hindi Magazine “Arunima” by the National Commission for Women.
- There are no charges/registration fees for participation in the competition.
- The participants must be the same person who has written the essay. The Essay should reflect original thinking and presentation.
Gratification
- The Selected Entry shall be rewarded with a cash prize or item worth Rs. 1500/-
- The top entries will be featured in the National Commission for Women’s 3rd edition of Hindi
Magazine ‘Arunima’.
