About the Challenge
The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with MyGov, is inviting all citizens to participate in a 7-day Swachhata Challenge. This initiative encourages participants to create high-resolution videos showcasing day-wise highlights, including before and after scenes of the spot or site they choose to clean. The goal is to inspire others and communicate the significance of Swachhata (cleanliness) in a creative and engaging way.
Theme: βSwabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhataβ
The Swachhata Challenge is part of the broader βSwachhata Hi Sevaβ campaign, observed this year from 17th September to 2nd October, under the theme βSwabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhataβ (ΰ€Έΰ₯ΰ€΅ΰ€ΰ€Ύΰ€΅ ΰ€Έΰ₯ΰ€΅ΰ€ΰ₯ΰ€ΰ€€ΰ€Ύ – ΰ€Έΰ€ΰ€Έΰ₯ΰ€ΰ€Ύΰ€° ΰ€Έΰ₯ΰ€΅ΰ€ΰ₯ΰ€ΰ€€ΰ€Ύ). The aim is to facilitate large-scale advocacy and encourage citizen participation for Swachhata across the nation. This year, the challenge focuses on cleaning neglected, difficult-to-clean spots (black spots), recognizing the invaluable contributions of sanitation workers, celebrating past achievements, and recommitting to the future of sanitation and sustainable waste management in India.
