The National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes the importance of innovative teaching methods, with a specific mention of Art Integration as a transformative pedagogy. Art Integration nurtures creativity, encouraging students to explore innovative ideas, express themselves, and think outside the box. Incorporating arts into education supports the holistic development of students, addressing their emotional, social, and cognitive needs. In view of NEP 2020 focuses on holistic development of the students, the Board announces β€˜Learning through Art Integration’ as a training theme of academic session 2024-25.

Following programmes shall be conducted during the academic session 2024-2025 on Learning through Art Integration:

  1. Stage specific online sessions: Stage specific online sessions on integration of Arts shall be conducted by the CBSE Centre of Excellence (CoEs); foundational stage, preparatory stage, Middle Stage and Secondary Stage.
  2. School Level Workshops: Schools may organize workshops for teachers to familiarize them with various art integration techniques and methodologies. Invite expert educators and artists to conduct these sessions.
  3. Student Workshops: Schools may conduct art-based workshops and activities for students, encouraging them to explore different forms of art, such as visual arts, music, drama, and dance.
  4. Community Engagement: Schools may extend the initiative to involve parents and the local community. Schools may organize exhibitions, performances, or interactive sessions showcasing students’ artistic talents.
  5. National Conference: A National Conference on β€˜Learning through Art Integration’ shall be organized in October/November 2024, at Madurai, (Tamil Nadu). Detailed information of this National Conference shall be notified at CBSE website separately.
  6. Best Practices: Principals and Teachers are encouraged to maintain records of their practices on Learning through Art Integration. The best practices of schools on Learning through Art Integration may be shared with respective CoEs and also presented in proposed National Conference.
  7. Inclusion of Students with Disabilities: Schools are advised to ensure full participation of Children with Special Needs in all the activities related to Learning through Art Integration.

All the principals of CBSE affiliated schools are requested to inform the teachers and encourage them to participate in online/offline trainings on Learning through Art Integration. The trained Art Teacher should conduct activities throughout the year (01.04.2024 to 31.03.2025) and also share their achievements and experiences with the respective CoEs of the Board.
