About the Organizer

Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM) is a science museum in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is a unit under the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Under the governmental jurisdiction of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), BITM is commonly recognized as the precursor of India’s science museum concept.

General Details

  • Frequency of Meetings: 2nd Sunday of the month for college students and 4th Sunday of the month for the school students.
  • Timing: 1 hr in the afternoon.

  • From the Big Bang to the birth of Earth.
  • Handling Telescope.
  • Astro-Imaging.
  • Making Star Chart, Stargazing.
  • Sun, Solar Corona, and Coronal Rain.
  • Earth Atmosphere, Corona Borealis, and Corona Australis.

Eligibility Criteria

It is open to school students (studying in Class IX to XII) and college students (undergraduate students).

  • Rs 500/- per head for individual school/college students.
  • Rs 1000/- for a school group of 10 students.

Terms & Conditions

  • After successful online registration and fulfilling the eligibility criteria for participation in the club, a payment link will be sent to the registered email id.
  • Fees, once paid, will not be refunded.
  • Participation in the club will be confirmed only after the successful payment of the registration fees.
  • A mere fill-up of the registration form does not confirm participation in the club until the payment is made.
