About IIT Kanpur

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) is a public institute of technology located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was declared an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the Institutes of Technology Act. IIT Kanpur is ranked among the most prestigious academic institutions in India.

About the Program

The Language Programme was established in the early years of IIT Kanpur and acquired a more formal structure during the 1970s. For more than 50 years now, a wide variety of language courses have been helping students widen their intellectual horizons and get better integrated within an international working environment. The programme is organized by the Centre for Continuing Education of IIT Kanpur.

Languages

  • French: Level I and Level II.
  • German: Level I and Level II.
  • Japanese: Level I and Level II.

Eligibility Criteria

  • For Level I courses, the minimum qualification is Class 10.
  • For Level II courses, the minimum qualification is Class 10 and Level I in the relevant language.

Course Duration

August 2023 to April 2024.

Class Timing

  • Level 1: 7:00-8:00 PM on Weekdays.
  • Level 2: 6:00-7:00 PM on Weekdays.

  • Date of Submission of Fees through Online SBI-I Collect: 5:00 PM, July 14, 2023 (Friday) to 5:00 PM, July 17, 2023 (Monday).
  • Declaration of Waitlist Candidates: 5:00 PM July 20, 2023 (Thursday).
  • Date of Submission of Fees through Online SBI-I Collect (Only Wait-listed Applicants): 5:00 PM, July 20, 2023 (Thursday) to 5:00 PM, July 24, 2023 (Monday).
  • List of Final Selected Candidates: 5:00 PM, July 26, 2023 (Friday).

Category Wise Fees Structure

  • IIT Kanpur Students: Rs. 6000/- per year.
  • IITK Employee: Rs. 6000/- per year.
  • IITK Wards: Rs. 7080/- (including 18% GST) per year.
  • Participants (Non- IIT Kanpur): Rs. 15000/- (including 18% GST).
