About the Challenge
Mathematics is not just about numbers and formulas, it is a way of thinking, problem-solving, and applying logic to real-life situations. To promote this practical application of mathematics among students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organizes the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC) every year.
The Aryabhata Ganit Challenge 2025 aims to assess and strengthen studentsβ abilities to apply mathematical concepts in everyday life. Beyond being a competition, it is a platform that nurtures creativity, logical reasoning, and analytical skills.

Stages of the Challenge
The AGC 2025 will be conducted in two stages:
Stage 1: School-Level Competition
- Conducted by schools themselves.
- Question paper will be provided by CBSE through its official portal.
- Schools will be responsible for downloading, conducting, and evaluating this stage on their own campus.
Stage 2: National-Level Competition
- Conducted online by CBSE as a computer-based test.
- Top three students from each participating school will qualify for this stage.
Eligibility Criteria
- Stage 1 (School-Level): Open to all students of Classes VIII to X in CBSE-affiliated schools.
- Stage 2 (National-Level): Top three students per school who excel in Stage 1.

Exam Format
- Duration: 1 hour
- Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Total Marks: 40
- Marking Scheme: No negative marking
Important Dates and Process
Stage 1: School-Level
- Registration Window: 19th September 2025 β 20th October 2025 (till 5:30 p.m.)
- No fee is charged at this stage.
- Question Paper & Answer Key Release: Between 7th β 10th October 2025 via portal.
- Selection of Top 3 Students: If more than three students tie for top scores, schools may conduct an internal screening test.
- Submission of Names & Fee Payment: 15th β 22nd October 2025. Schools must register the top three students with an online fee of βΉ900/-.
Stage 2: National-Level
- Date of Test: 29th October 2025 (Online Computer-Based Test).
- Merit Recognition: Top 100 students from every CBSE region will be awarded a Merit Certificate.
Fees
- Stage 1 (School-Level): Free of cost.
- Stage 2 (National-Level): βΉ900/- per school (non-refundable). Payment through Debit Card, Credit Card, or NEFT.
Recognition for Schools
The Top 10 schools of each region with the maximum student participation in Stage 1 will be awarded an Appreciation Certificate by CBSE.
