About the Contest

FairGaze in association with India Is Us is organizing an impactful World Water Day campaign, running from March 1st to March 22nd, focused on raising awareness about the importance of glaciers and the role they play in our planet’s water supply. Chill for Change: Glacier Guardians Protect Water is a campaign dedicated to raising awareness about glacier preservation and the role they play in safeguarding our precious water resources.

Why Glaciers Matter?

Glaciers are more than just frozen landscapes—they are lifelines. They: 

  • Store Fresh Water: The largest natural reservoirs of fresh water on Earth.
  • Regulate Climate: Reflect sunlight, helping to cool the planet. 
  • Sustain Ecosystems: Feed rivers and support life downstream.

But due to global warming, glaciers are melting rapidly, disrupting ecosystems, and threatening global water security. It’s time to act!

Categories

FairGaze’s World Water Day campaign is open to students from classes Nursery to 12th, creating an inclusive platform for all age groups. The competition is thoughtfully divided into sections tailored for various skill levels and interests:

  • Classes Nursery to 8th: Poster Making ( Drawings)
  • Classes 9th to 12th: Slogan writing (Write-up)

Campaign Dates

  • Start: March 1
  • End: March 15
  • March 22 (Winner Announcement Ceremony)

What Students Need To Do?

  • Submit Your Entries: Submit Your Entries: Post your poster or slogan on Instagram, tag @FairGaze and three of your friends in the comments section, and use #ChillForChange. Winners will be based first on the evaluation criteria and then on their likes and shares.
  • Poster Making Contest: Design a poster that captures the importance of glacier preservation.For (Classes 6th to 8th)
  • Slogan Writing Challenge: Write a catchy slogan to inspire action for the planet and water protection. For(Classes 9th to 12th)

Contest Guidelines

  • Who can participate: Students from classes Nursery to 12th from any school across India.
  • Mode of participation: The contest operates online.
  • Contest fee: Free
  • Language Of Submissions: Entries are accepted in English or Hindi.
  • Only unique entries will be accepted.
  • NGO students are also eligible to participate.

Evaluation Criteria

Poster Making (Class 6-8)

Winners will be based first on the evaluation criteria and then on their likes and shares.

  • Relevance to Theme:The poster clearly represents glacier preservation
  • Creativity and Originality:Unique and innovative artistic expression.
  • Visual Impact:The poster is eye-catching and conveys a strong message.
  • Neatness and Presentation:Well-structured, clean, and visually appealing.
  • Message Clarity:The poster effectively communicates its environmental message.
  • Effort and Execution:The level of effort and detailing in the artwork.
  • Overall Impact:The poster’s effectiveness in raising awareness.

Slogan Writing (Class 9-12)

Winners will be based first on the evaluation criteria and then on their likes and shares.

  • Relevance to Theme:The slogan strongly connects to glacier preservation.
  • Creativity & Originality:Unique, fresh, and innovative use of words.
  • Conciseness & Impact:Short, powerful, and memorable slogan.
  • Clarity & Simplicity:Easy to understand while carrying a strong message.
  • Grammar & Language:Proper grammar, spelling, and language usage.
  • Emotional & Inspirational Appeal:Evokes emotions, inspires action for glacier preservation.
  • Overall Effectiveness:The slogan’s ability to make a lasting impression.

Objectives of the Campaign

  • Raise Awareness: Educate people, especially students, about the critical role of glaciers in sustaining freshwater resources.
  • Promote Conservation: Encourage actions to reduce climate impact and protect glaciers from rapid melting.
  • Engage Communities: Involve schools, youth, and local communities in creative activities like poster-making, slogan writing, and social media engagement.
  • Advocate for Policy & Action: Highlight the need for sustainable policies and personal responsibility in fighting climate change.
  • Foster Sustainable Practices: Inspire individuals to adopt eco-friendly habits that reduce global warming and protect water sources.
