The Old Farmer’s Almanac is the oldest almanac in the USA. It started when George Washington was the president.

- Cash prizes (first, $300; second, $200; third, $100) will be awarded for the best essay in 200 or fewer words.
- Winning essays will also appear in The 2026 Old Farmer’s Almanac and on Almanac.com.
