About BITM

Established on 2nd May 1959 under the administrative control of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM) in Kolkata is widely regarded as the mother of science museum movement in India. The idea behind this pioneering initiative came from Dr. B C Roy, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal who after visiting the Deutsches Museum in Munich was inspired to create a similar institution in India for public engagement with science & technology.

Workshop Details

Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM) Innovation Hub presents offline workshop on “Light Matters: Exploring the World of Optics”. Participation certificate will be provided to all successful participants.

Eligibility

School students of Class VII to XI are eligibile to participate.

Date

November 28 and 29, 2024 (Thursday and Friday).

  • Batch 1: November 28, 2024 (Thursday), 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Batch 2:  November 29, 2024 (Friday), 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

A student can register any one of the batches.

Guidelines

  • After successful online registration and fulfilling the eligibility criteria for the participation in the workshop, online payment link will be sent to the registered email id within few days. For offline payment you will have to come at BITM on any working day within 11 am to 5 pm (before prior information) and pay the fees in cash.
  • Fees once paid will not be refunded.
  • Participation for the workshop will be confirmed only after the successful payment of the registration fees.
  • Mere fill up of the registration form does not confirm the participation for the workshop, until the payment is done.
