About Nritya
Nritya is an annual online Dance competition organised by Art Journal Foundation that aims at fostering creative aptitude and enthusiasm amongst young scholars.

- A: Grades 1, 2 and 3
- B: Grades 4 and 5
- C: Grades 6, 7 and 8
- D: Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12
Theme: Celebrating Diversity
Diversity means all the amazing things that make us different! It’s about our backgrounds, cultures, families, abilities, interests, and so much more. It’s like a beautiful garden full of different flowers, each one unique and adding its own special colour. Think about all the ways we celebrate diversity in the world around us.
The participants are required to choreograph and create a performance on the theme ‘Celebrating Diversity’ highlighting the beauty of diversity.
Prizes
- Two winners from each category will be awarded trophies.
- All winners and participants will get eCertificates.
Instructions
- Each participant is allowed to submit ONLY one entry for Nritya.
- Participants can use one genre or a combination of genres appropriate to address the theme. No special points given based on the number of genres used as the objective should be to address the theme effectively.
- Participants will be required to send a maximum 4 minutes duration dance video on the selected theme to the song of their choice.
- Video must be shot in horizontal orientation.
- Participants must keep the use of props and costumes at the minimum range.
- Participants must follow the given theme and must send only a self-choreographed performance.
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions to the competition to be uploaded on the submission link, that will be received on your registered mail ID, as a video in an MP4 format, maximum size 25 MB.
- Participants are responsible for including their music with their video submission.
- When submitting, please label your video file with your name, category for clear identification, for example
Nameofthestudent_CategoryName_Nritya.mp4
Criteria for Judgement
The following elements of artistic expression will be judged for the dance performance submitted:
1. Performance – Overall performance and depicted theme’sand uniqueness.
2. Technique – The clarity of dance technique used and optimum usage of space.
3. Originality –The performance’s originality and creativity.
4. Musicality – Connection of the music to the dance theme. Overall rhythm/ timing in the movement.
5. Showmanship – Appeal/ excitement created by the performance as a work of Art.
