Contest Details
To generate awareness about the importance of handloom industry and its contribution to the socio-economic development of the country, 7th August is celebrated every year as “National Handloom Day”.
August 7 was chosen as the National Handloom Day to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement which was launched on this day in 1905 in the Calcutta Town hall.
The first National Handloom Day was inaugurated on 7th August 2015 by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the Centenary Hall of Madras University in Chennai.
Ministry of Textiles in collaborations with MyGov is organizing a contest Designing a Doodle on Handloom. For the same Indian citizens are requested to show their creativity through doodle designing to show their bonding with Indian Handlooms and to support Handloom Sector.
Guidelines for Participation
- Create a doodle that reflects the significance of National Handloom Day.
- Doodles can be submitted in digital or hand-drawn format and should be in PDF format only.
- This competition is a wonderful opportunity to express your thoughts feelings & bonding through art. Let your doodle be an example of inspiration for the people to use Indian Handloom Products.
- The contest is open to Indian Nationals only.
- Ministry of Textiles will have the sole right/proprietorship for the usage of the winning content. By participating in this contest you are also giving explicit consent to the organizers to use the images, submitted entry by Government of India for promotional and display purpose in various creative, films, social media handles etc. participant shall be solely responsible for any consequences that may arise due to any kind of infringement of copyrights or any kind of intellectual property rights belonging to any other person/entity etc.
- The decision of the Ministry of Textiles (MoT) concerning the evaluations and winners is final and binding.
- The participant will be required to provide his / her name, email address, telephone number, postal address, district, state, etc. By submitting the contact details, the participants will give consent to these details being used for the competition.
