About Mysuru Zoo
Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, popularly known as ‘Mysuru Zoo’, is one of the oldest zoos of the country established by his highness, the erstwhile ruler of Mysuru Sri Chamarajendra Wadiyar Bahadur. Mysuru Zoo is known for its meticulous planning, cleanliness, conservation breeding of endangered species, housing exotic animals from around the globe and recreation of natural habitat for captive animals.
The zoo is located in the heart of the city and its easy accessibility for public transport and other various tourist places has made it a much favored tourist center. Mysuru Zoo sports favorable climate, the temperatures goes up to 35 degrees in peak summer and below 20 degrees in winters.
Camp Details
Mysuru Zoo is organizing Summer Camp for students of age between 12-18 years. First batch from 15th to 24th of April 2024 and Second batch from 6th to 15th May 2024. In this program students will get exposure to basics of Captive Wild Animals Management and Wildlife Conservation. Students can learn about basics of Biodiversity, Animal behaviour and Conservation of wildlife. There will be both theory and practical classes covering various aspects of the issues. Zoo Officials and other Subject Matter Specialists will interact with the participants.
Eligibility
Students between age 12-18 years are eligible to participate in this program.
Dates
- First batch – 15th to 24th of April 2024.
- Second batch – 6th to 15th May 2024.
Timings
10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
How to Apply?
One can collect application from zoo office from 11/3/2024 to 16/3/2024 and submit on or before 18/3/2024 (10:00am to 5:00pm). Filled application should accompany;
- Recent stamp size colour photograph (1).
- Age proof (Copy of Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate).
Intimation and further details will be sent to the selected members to attend the camp through e-mail.
