About Ball State University
Ball State University is a public research university in Muncie, Indiana. It has two satellite facilities in Fishers and Indianapolis.
Ball State is classified among “R2: Doctoral Universities β High research activity”. The university is composed of seven academic colleges. As of Fall 2020, total enrollment was 21,597 students, including 15,205 undergraduates and 5,817 postgraduates. The university offers about 120 undergraduate majors and 130 minor areas of study and more than 100 master’s, doctoral, certificate, and specialist degrees.
There are more than 400 student organizations and clubs on campus, including 31 fraternities and sororities. Ball State athletic teams compete in Division I of the NCAA and are known as the Ball State Cardinals. The university is a member of the Mid-American Conference and the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. In the fall of 2020, the university formed a varsity esports team and joined the Esports Collegiate Conference.
About the Scholarships Provided by the Department of Psychological Science
At Ball State, 80 percent of our students are eligible for financial aid. The Department of Psychological Science offers several scholarships to help you pursue your bachelorβs degree.
About the W.W. Renke Memorial Scholarship
Pauline Renke established this fund in memory of her husband, who served in our department for 25 years. The intent is both to assist a deserving student and to honor the memory of a distinguished faculty member. In particular, this award is designed to encourage students to implement the values that Bill Renke lived by, including dedication to promoting the happiness of others and commitment to excellence in oneβs profession and the fair and ethical treatment of others.
Eligibility Criteria
- Major in Psychology at Ball State University.
- Have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

To apply for consideration for these scholarships, please complete and submit the following materials in PDF format (either as four separate files or as a single combined file) via email to the chair of the Undergraduate Committee, no later than 4.30 PM on the Friday before Spring Break.
