Applications are invited for Santoor Women’s Scholarship 2024 for Class 12 Passed Girl Students. The last date of application is September 20, 2024.

About the Scholarship

One of the global issues faced by society today is the unequal status of women. Research shows that education goes a long way in correcting this disparity, leading to better outcomes in terms of gender equality and empowerment of women. However, many girls and young women are at a disadvantage because they lack access to education. The problem is more acute in developing countries and states with a low human development index.

The Santoor Scholarship program is an initiative of Wipro Consumer Care and Wipro Cares. The program intends to financially support girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, who wish to pursue higher education after grade 12. This year, the Santoor Scholarship will extend financial support to 1,500 eligible girl students, across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh.

It is a recurring annual program and the selected students are supported for the duration of their higher education. The support covers tuition fees and incidental expenses.

Over the last eight years, close to 8000 students have received support through the Santoor Scholarship Program.

Besides students inclined towards professional courses, those showing a keen interest in pursuing their higher education in the fields of humanities, liberal arts and sciences are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference is given to students from backward districts.

Eligibility

  • Passed class 10 from a local government school.
  • Passed class 12 from a government school/junior college in the academic year 2023-24.
  • Enrolled in a full-time graduate program beginning from 2024-25.

Scholarship Amount

The students would be given Rs. 24,000 per annum till they complete their course of study. Students are permitted to utilize the scholarship for tuition fees or other expenses incidental to education.
