About Theological University of Apeldoorn

The Theological University of Apeldoorn (TUA) is the Dutch theological university of the Christian Reformed Churches (Christelijke Gereformeerde Kerken).

More than 130 students study at the university in Apeldoorn. The theological course lasts six years. The student is in the bachelor’s program for the first three years. This has a more orientating character, and includes the languages Classic Greek and Koine Greek, Latin and Biblical Hebrew.

In the three-year master’s program that follows, further studies and specialization are discussed. The training is specifically aimed at educating pastors (for the Christian Reformed Churches). Furthermore, one tries to keep together the reformed character of the faith and the church and the scientific level of the university.

The syllabus consists of subjects such as ethics, apologetics, Old and New Testament, canonical studies, dogmatics, church history, church law and civil subjects.

About the NL Scholarship

The NL Scholarship (former Holland Scholarship) is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.

The scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s in Holland. The EEA consists of the EU countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship amounts to €5,000 (approx. Rs. 4.5L). You will receive this in the first year of your studies.

Application Criteria

  • Your nationality is non-EEA.
  • You are applying for a full-time bachelor’s or master’s at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions.
  • You meet the specific requirements of the TUA.
  • You have never before studied at an education institution in the Netherlands.

How to Apply?

You can apply for the NL Scholarship at the Theological University of Apeldoorn. The application closes on February 1, 2024. You need to apply for a Bachelor’s or Master’s at to be considered for the scholarship. The TUA will select those who will be granted the scholarship and communicate directly with you.
