About WBMDFC
West Bengal Minority Minority Development Corporation is a government office to help religious minority groups. It is controlled by the Government of West Bengal.
WBMDFC was established in 1996 as a result of the West Bengal Act XVIII of 1995 with the purpose of providing economic welfare, scholarships, vocational training, mass awareness and career counseling for religious minority groups (e.g. Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains, Parsees, etc.).
Scholarship Details
West Bengal Merit Cum Means Scholarship 2023-24 is an opportunity offered by the West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation under the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department, Government of West Bengal, to provide financial assistance to students belonging to specified minority communities and economically weaker sections of West Bengal.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is awarded to the minority students for pursuing professional /technical courses at graduation and post-graduation levels in institutes located in WB and affiliated to any board/university under Govt. of West Bengal.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
- The students must have got admission in a technical / professional course.
- Must have secured at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/Graduation Examination.
- Annual Family Income upto Rs.2.5 Lakh.
- Students residing in West Bengal but pursuing studies in the institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible (Except listed institutes).
