About the Scholarship

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has been consistently contributing to the promotion and development of sports in India through various initiatives. BPCL Sports Scholarship Scheme, aimed at supporting young and talented sportspersons who exhibit the potential to excel at national and international levels.

The scheme offers financial assistance to help athletes cover the costs of training, coaching, and other related expenses. Selected athletes will receive a monthly stipend, sports kit, and tournament expenses up to a specified limit, enabling them to focus more effectively on their sporting pursuits.

Interested sportspersons, both male and female, between the ages of 13 and 25, can apply by submitting their personal and sports-related details, along with relevant certificates. Selection under the scheme will be carried out by BPCL, subject to a specified limit, based on assessment of applicants’ performance levels through evaluation methods

Eligibility

Interested sportspersons, both male and female, between the ages of 13 and 25, can apply by submitting their personal and sports-related details, along with relevant certificates.

The sports scholarship scheme is open to resident Indian citizens only.
Candidates should not be beneficiaries of any other scholarship from another organization or institution.
Scholarships will be granted in three categories:
- Budding Athlete Engagement – (Category Sub junior / Age 13 years & Above and up to 17 Years)
- Junior Athlete Engagement – (Category Junior / Age 17 years & Above and up to 21 Years)
- Elite Athlete Engagement – (Category Senior / Age 21 years & Above and up to 25 Years).
Age will be determined as of April 1st of the year the scholarship is awarded. However, the minimum age for a scholarship in Chess will be 10 years.Birth certificate / Passport / Aadhar Card / 10th Class certificate (any one) to be submitted as Documents for Proof of age.
