About Stay Safe Online

Stay Safe Online is an online campaign run and managed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India during India’s presidency of G20.

About the Competition

The objective of organising these national-level competitions is to inculcate cyber hygiene practices among internet users as part of the SSO Campaign.

These competitions are organized in collaboration with the Central Institute of Educational Technology(CIET), a constituent unit of NCERT, Ministry of Education.

Competition Guidelines

  • Duration of the Real Life Cyber Incident and how you have overcome that issue: The film shall not be more than 2 mins including the beginning and conclusion remarks. The film may be cast with family and friends.
  • Format: The films/videos may be shot in MPEG4 or AVI format. The recommended ratios are 16:9/16:9 Full Height Anamorphic in SDV/HDV.
  • The film/video should: 1. Not depict any horror/conflicts, and 2. Not harm any living objects.
  • Right to screen: The participants grant the organisers (www.staysafeonline.in) the non-exclusive rights to screen their film/video entry on their respective websites, promoted through social media platforms for awareness creation and other associated screenings.
  • Real-life cyber incidents may be in their original language but must be subtitled in English.
  • Real-life cyber incidents must not represent any particular individual, organisation, or brand name and must not depict any religious theme.
  • Real-life cyber incidents not following the above guidelines will be rejected.

Eligibility Criteria

The competition is open to all citizens.

Prizes & Certificates

  • 1st Place: Rs. 5,000.
  • 2nd Place: Rs. 4,000.
  • 3rd Place: Rs. 3,000.
  • Consolation Prizes: 5 of Rs. 1,000 each.
