About the Young Scientist India 22-23

Young Scientist IndiaΒ (YSI) is the Flagship event of Space Kidz India. It is a platform for high school students to showcase their innovative ideas and to encourage them to explore their creativity.

YSI is an innovation challenge to promote science awareness among high school students’, to increase their understanding of science, and to attract them into scientific careers and explore, as there is a big vacuum in the enrolment of young scientists in our research centers.

Eligibility

Class / Grade: 8th – 12th. Students from all over India are eligible to participate. (Private and Government school Students are registered and evaluated separately.)

Categories

The challenge format was split into the following categories:

  • App development
  • Electronics
  • Robotics
  • Space Sciences.

Prize

The YSI Challenge awards over half a million rupees in prizes to the best innovation for the budding innovator/entrepreneurs in five categories that holistically represent the solution types necessary to build an economy that works for all in the digital era.

Phases

Challenge is divided into 3 phases for Online/Offline:  

  • Phase 1(Completely online): Students will be informed about the Challenge and registrations will be open to send their abstracts. Abstracts which are best of all the submitted proposals will be selected for phase 2. 
  • Phase 2 (Completely Online): Students will be presenting to the jury/ski team to make sure how their final presentation has to be in finals and select the best projects.
  • Phase 3 (Offline): Students will be invited to Chennai for Finals and present their projects to the Jury.
