The TISS Guwahati campus invites applications for non-teaching positions to be filled on contract basis for one year initially and extendable based on performance of candidate and requirement by the Institute.

TISS Guwahati campus also invites applications for three posts of Associate Professors, one each in Anthropology, Economics and Psychology, to be filled on contract basis for one year initially and extendable based on performance of candidate and requirement by the Institute.

Pay Scale: PB Rs. 37400 – 67000; AGP Rs. 9000

Essential educational qualification and work experience:

  • Good academic record with a Ph. D. in Anthropology / Economics / Psychology and active engagement in research with strong publications record.
  • A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
  • A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with consistent engagement in basic and applied research with strong publications record.
  • Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
  • A minimum score of 300 points as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC Regulation 2010 in Appendix III.

Desired Qualification:

  • Capacity to supervise Bachelors, Masters and Research Students;
  • Proven ability to teach inter-disciplinary courses that are offered at the Institute;
  • Proven ability to build research networks locally, regionally and internationally;
  • Experience in partnering with industry and other professional bodies for research funding and grants.
