Submissions are invited for The 9th Singapore Poetry Contest. The last date for submission is May 15, 2023.

Contest Overview

In conjunction with Gaudy Boy’s April 1, 2023 publication of Jim Pascual Agustin’s Waking Upto the Pattern Left by a Snail Overnight, the winner of the Gaudy Boy Poetry Book Prize, SUSPECT is holding the 9th Singapore Poetry Contest with a call for submissions inspired by the title of this extraordinary book of poems.

They are looking for poems that use the word β€œsnail” in imaginative ways. The poems may be on any theme (they do not have to be about snails, although they can be), but they will be judged for the creative use of the word β€œsnail” as much as they will be for overall excellence.

Contest entry is free.

Awards of USD 300, 200, and 100 will go to the top three winners. The winning poems will be published on SUSPECT; non-winning poems will be considered for publication as well.
