About Ludhiana
Ludhiana is the largest city of Punjab, both in terms of area and population. The city is spread over an area of 159.37 sq.km and accomodates approximately 16.00 lacs population. It is one of the prime industrial and educational center of northern India, and is the Cross roads of many different cultures.
Presently, the city is commonly known as the “Manchester of India”, the “hub of the Indian Hosiery Industry” and also as Industrial Capital of small scale Industry in the country. The city is famous for its hosiery goods, woolen garments and leather items. Machine tools, dyes, cycle parts, mopeds, sewing machines and motor parts are also included in the list of the items exported from Ludhiana.
Competition Details
Municipal Corporation Ludhiana is organizing a photography competition, to select the most beautiful places and wards in the city and nominating them for City Beauty Competition launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The best adjudged entries will be given a certificate of appreciation by the Municipal Corporation.
Categories
Participants can submit entries in the following categories:
- Beautiful Ward.
- Beautiful Waterfront.
- Beautiful Greenspaces.
- Beautiful tourist/ heritage site.
- Beautiful market/commercial space.
Competition Rules
- Include date and timestamp on the photo such that it is ensured photos are clicked after the competition is launched.
- Send a short description along with the photo.
- The photo should not be blurred and elements clearly visible.
- The photographs sent should be on the lines of the evaluation criteria given.
Selection Criteria
- Accessibility: Easy connectivity to the site 10%.
- Amenities: Inclusive access to services and facilities 15%.
- Aesthetics: Enhances beauty and imageability of spaces 50%.
- Activities: Diverse artistic and cultural activities creating connect with communities 10%.
- Ecology: Help reduce energy use, promote sustainability, and improve biodiversity 15%.
Participants can submit entries in any 1 or more categories keeping these criteria in mind.
