Fellowship Details

Are you taking climate action in your community and beyond? If you are between 15 and 25 years old and dream of playing a critical role in shaping not just your own future, but the future of a world facing its greatest crisis, then UNICEF would love to hear from you.

They place great value on the role of young leaders to drive climate action. Our goal is to empower them to help shape the future of UNICEF’s work on climate – and through it the trajectory of their own lives.

So UNESCO is searching for passionate young leaders to form the core team of our Leading Minds Fellows on Climate, an intensive, six-month program designed to foster and harness theΒ talents of young climate leaders.

This part-time paid fellowship is your chance to steer the agenda of UNICEF’s Leading Minds conference 2024, which is focused on climate breakthroughs.

Leading Minds is a future-informed conference series and premier platform for global thought leadership, co-created and co-driven by young people. It aims to convene cutting-edge thinkers and leaders, including next generation advocates, so they can dive into urgent, world-changing issues for children and young people and create a space where knowledge and power merge. This is where thought leaders will become changemakers.

But you should know that we are looking for more than just participants. They are seeking the architects of the future – young people ready and eager to transform insights into action and ideas into lasting change. Through this fellowship, you will play a pivotal role in shaping both the conference and UNICEF’s ongoing dialogue on pioneering climate innovation, youth engagement and child rights.

Whether you’ve led local projects, contributed to global initiatives or launched startups, your experience could be pivotal in driving our mission forward. While facilitation, writing and analytical skills are a plus, your ability to engage with youth networks and contribute creatively to our research and advocacy efforts is crucial.

Duration

The fellowship will run forΒ 6Β months, starting February 2024 via online platforms.Β Fellows must be able to devote between 5-10 hours per week on average to the fellowship. Additionally, the selected fellows may be required to travel to Florence, Italy, in May-June 2024 (TBC).
