About NCERT and RIE Nellore
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) was established by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, on 1 September 1961.
The NCERT has 8 Constituent units viz. National Institute of Education (NIE) at New Delhi; two central institutes viz., Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) at Delhi and Pandit Sudarlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education, (PSSCIVE) at Bhopal; and five Regional Institutes of Education (RIE) located at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, And Shillong. A new Regional Institute of Education is coming up at the coastal city, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. RIE Nellore is about to start its journey by offering a degree titled “M. A. Education Technology.”
Course Details
NCERT, right from its inception, has catered to the aspirations and contextual needs of our nation. It has been at the forefront of pedagogical innovation, by devising and implementing innovative teacher education programmes. NEP-2020 strongly advocates integrating technology with education and learning.
In response, RIE, Nellore is going to launch a two year Master’s programme in Education Technology in the 2024-25 academic year. The programme will be run at the transit campus, V. R College, located at the heart of the city of Nellore. This initiative looks toward the future of education and will benefit many youngsters.

Selection Criteria and Process
- Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks.
- Candidates who appeared and qualified in CEE conducted by RIE, Bhubaneshwar, for the courses of B. Ed and M. Ed.
- Candidates who have given consent to pursue the Education Technology course by filling the Google form uploaded along with the notification.
- Merit list will be prepared on national basis from amongst the candidates who expressed their content pursue the course.
- Reservation of Seats: As per the Government of India norms.
Scholarship and Hostel Facilities
- Scholarships will be provided as per NCERT norms.
- Accommodations details will be intimated later.
