The Film and Television Institute of India is a film institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India and aided by the Central Government of India. It is situated on the premises of the erstwhile Prabhat Film Company in Pune. 

Course Details

Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) under its Centre for Open Learning (CFOL) initiative, announces Evening Online Course: “Basic Course in 3D Character Animation”, from 09-21 December 2024 at FTII, Pune.

Course Contents

  • Introduction to 3D animation.
  • Understanding animation workflow: timeline, key-frames, and Graph Editor.
  • Fundamentals of key-frame animation.
  • Introduction to core animation principles (Squash, Stretch, Timing, Spacing, Arcs).
  • Animating objects with realistic timing and weight variations.
  • Introduction to character rigs and rigging basics.
  • Key-framing and animating a walk cycle.

Dates

09-21 December 2024 (7 days, including Sunday).

Timings

7 pm to 9 pm (Indian Standard Time – IST), 02 hours per day.

Maximum no. of Participants

30 (Course will be conducted only if minimum strength of 24 is reached).

Selection Criteria

On First – Come – First – Served Basis.

Age

18 years & above as on 01st December 2024 (participants born on or before 30th November 2006).

Educational Qualification

HSC (12th pass). In exceptional cases, 10th pass may be considered.

Online Platform

Google Classroom & Google Meet platform.

Medium of Instructions

English and Hindi.

Computer Literacy

It is the participant’s responsibility to be technologically capable to take an online course. Participants must be computer literate.

Mandatory Requirements

Since the course is online, participants must have following facilities:

  • A good quality Smartphone or DSLR camera which can capture photographs.
  • A Desktop / Laptop having minimum 4 GB RAM, 1.6 GHz or better processor (Intel i3 or i5 or better).  (Windows / MAC).
  • Operating system: a) Windows 7 or 8 or 10. b) MAC OS Sierra or later.
  • Audio – Video software: Latest versions of VLC player, Windows Media Player or Quick Time Player.
  • Compatible good quality headphones/ earphones with mic.
  • Compatible HD webcam.
