About National Commission for Minorities

The Union Government set up theΒ National Commission for MinoritiesΒ (NCM) under the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992. Six religious communities, viz;Β Muslims,Β Christians,Β Jains,Β Sikhs,Β BuddhistsΒ andΒ ZoroastriansΒ (Parsis) have been notified in Gazette of India as minority communities by the Union Government all over India.Β Original notification of 1993 was for five religious communities; Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, Christians and Muslims, later in 2014, Jains community was also added. As per Census 2001, these six communities consists of 18.8% of the country’s population.

Quiz Details

The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) in collaboration with MyGov is pleased to unveil an exciting and enlightening Quiz series as part of Minorities Day i.e. 18th December 2024. The quiz aims to celebrate the richness and diversity of minority communities, fostering awareness, understanding, and respect for their invaluable contributions to society. Participants will explore cultural heritage, history, traditions, and achievements of minority groups while engaging in a fun and thought-provoking knowledge challenge. Join us as we commemorate Minority Day by promoting inclusion, harmony, and the spirit of unity in diversity!

Eligibility

All Indian citizens can participate in the quiz.

Guidelines

  • An individual is permitted to participate only once in each of the quizzes.
  • The participant should ensure that his/her MyGov profile is accurate and updated since the Ministry would use this for further communication.
  • Use of any unfair/spurious means/ malpractices including but not limited to impersonation, double participation etc. during the participation in the competition, will result rejection of participation.
  • Employees, directly or indirectly connected with organizing the competition, are not eligible to participate in the competition. This ineligibility also applies to their immediate family members.
  • Participants must not engage in cheating, plagiarism, or any other unfair practices.
  • Use of external help, multiple devices, or sharing answers with others is strictly prohibited.
  • Violation of rules will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The quiz is open to individuals of all age groups unless specified otherwise.
  • Participants must register with valid details, including full name, email, and contact number.
  • Multiple entries using the same email ID or contact information are not allowed.
