About the Competition

In celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations (UN@80), the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, is organizing a National Stamp Design Competition for school students.

Theme

β€œUN@80 and India’s leadership in building our future through multilateralism, global leadership, and stewardship.”

This competition encourages students to visually express India’s role in global diplomacy and multilateral initiatives through the powerful medium of stamp art.

Important Dates

  • Competition Window: 8th July to 15th August 2025
  • National Stamp Release: 24th October 2025 (United Nations Day)

Eligibility

  • Students of Classes IX to XII from schools across India

Artwork Guidelines

  • Paper Size: A4 size (200 GSM) white art paper
  • Mediums Allowed: Crayons, pencil colours, water colours, or acrylic paints
  • All designs must reflect the competition theme.

School-Level Instructions

  • Schools should organize the competition internally between 8th July and 15th August 2025.
  • After conducting the event, each school must select up to five of the best student designs.
  • These selected entries must be scanned and uploaded on the MyGov Portal within the submission deadline.
  • A national-level selection committee chaired by the Chief Postmaster General (CPMG) will evaluate the entries.

Action Points for Schools

  • Conduct and promote the competition widely within the school.
  • Appoint a School Nodal Officer for managing and uploading student entries.
  • Ensure that the selected artwork aligns with the theme and technical specifications.

Recognition

The winning entry at the national level will be issued as an official Indian postage stamp and released at a national event on 24th October 2025, a moment of pride for both the student and the school.
